License Activation: unlock SEO Magic PRO

2 min read

Learn how to activate, deactivate and manage your SEO Magic PRO license so you can unlock PRO features and keep receiving updates.

1. PRO license types #

SEO Magic PRO is sold as a paid license.
At the time of writing, there are two PRO options:

Check the pricing page for the latest details (names, limits and features may change over time).

Once you have purchased a license, you will receive a license key that you can use on your site.

2. Where to find the License Activation screen #

The License Activation screen is always available inside SEO Magic.

To open it:

  1. In your WordPress dashboard, go to SEO Magic → License.
  2. You’ll see a page with:
    • The heading “License Activation”.
    • A card titled “SEO Magic PRO” with a short explanation: “Enter your license key to unlock PRO features.”
    • A License Key field.
    • A status badge on the right (ACTIVE or INACTIVE).
    • A button to Activate or Deactivate the license.

When no license is active, the card will show the key field empty and an activation button.
When a license is active, the field is masked and a Deactivate License button is displayed.

3. Activating your license key #

When the license is inactive:

  • The status badge shows INACTIVE.
  • The License Key field is an empty text input.
  • A button (for example Activate License) appears below the field.

To activate your license:

  1. Copy your license key from the purchase email or your account.
  2. Paste it into the License Key field (avoid extra spaces).
  3. Click Activate License.

If the activation is successful:

  • The status badge changes to ACTIVE (green).
  • The license key field is masked with dots.
  • A small line of text appears under the field, such as:
“Active for Product ID: 71” (the ID depends on the plan you purchased).

From this moment:

  • All PRO-only panels and tools become available.
  • The plugin can connect to the update server and receive PRO updates.

If activation fails (invalid key, connection issue, limit reached, etc.), an error notice will appear at the top of the page.
You can correct the key or try again after fixing the issue.

4. Deactivating your license key #

You can deactivate the license on a site if you plan to move it to another domain or free up a slot.

When the license is ACTIVE:

  • The License Key field is masked and cannot be edited directly.
  • Under the field you’ll see a message like “Active for Product ID: 71”.
  • A red Deactivate License button appears at the bottom of the card.

To deactivate:

  1. Click Deactivate License.
  2. SEO Magic disconnects the license from this site.
  3. The page reloads and:
    • The status badge returns to INACTIVE.
    • The key field becomes an empty text input again.

After deactivation, you may:

  • Activate the same key on another site (according to your plan limits), or
  • Enter a different license key on this site.

5. How the license changes what you see #

Because SEO Magic is a single plugin, the difference is what you can use:

  • Without an active license key
    • Core features remain available (for example, basic content generation and metadata tools, depending on your configuration).
    • PRO-only options and panels stay hidden or show upgrade messages.
    • PRO updates are not delivered to the site.
  • With an active license key
    • Additional PRO features become visible in the interface (extra tools, integrations and automations).
    • The plugin can check for and install PRO updates through the normal WordPress updates system.

Keeping your license active on sites where you rely on SEO Magic ensures you always have access to the latest features and improvements.
